Welcome to IRONMANBILL

Hello my name is Bill Holmes, and I am an IRON MAN. I completed the Beach 2 Battleship Iron distance triathlon in 13 hours 35 minutes and 07 seconds good enough for 241 out of 337 men who competed in this grueling event!!  I had a great swim and great bike, the run was a little slow and sluggish but completed which was the ultimate goal, my results can be seen at Setupevents.com or Beach2battleship.com , this event was one of the best managed races i've ever been a part of and I had a great time in the Carolina area and feel a great sense of accomplishment! Thanks to eveyone for the support they have shown me throught the process and especially the voulunteers and supporters at the race. Also I still have t-shirts remaining and for sale for $15 or 2 for $20 please check them out on my products page and remember a portion of the sales do go to charity.

My New Goal for 2009 is the Iron Distance Triathlon at Plymouth Rock,( along with many other races along the way)  this race will take place on Sept 6, 2009 in Plymouth MA  ( plymouthrocktriathlon.com) so once again I have t-shirts to sell and will be looking for corporate sponsors to help support me in my training and costs of racing.  now that I know what a Iron distance race consists of I will know how to train to improve on my time for this year,  hopefully everyone has a great 2009 and as alway's if you have any questions, you can reach me on my contact page.

As many people know, the IRON distance triathlon is the most difficult of triathalons, and take a lot of training! Many people think I was a little crazy to attempt to do this, and of course they are correct! You have to be a little crazy to put yourself through the torture of an IRON distance triathalon. ( 2.4 Mile Swim, 112 mile Bike ride, 26.2 mile marathon )  I know crazy right? and this all has to be done in 17 hours.

2010 I will be also doing the Goofy Challenge in Orlando FL, it is a 1/2 Marathon on Jan. 9 and a then a full Marathon on Jan. 10th

Triathlons can become quite expensive, and training is time consuming, so what solution is there other than a second job???

My Goal:

To get Corporate Sponsors and sell T-Shirts that I designed! (please see my sponsor and products tabs).
Also to help any beginner triathletes or any one who wants to be a triathlete with any questions they may have ( go to my contact page )

Also while helping me you can help others, $1 from each shirt I sell will be donated to help others, the money will be split between 2 charities, first is to fight MS which is a disease that affects the central nervous system and can make it difficult for someone to compete in physical fitness activities.  The second that I choose is Make a wish foundation as I feel that kids that are terminally ill should have the right to fullfill their dreams even if their time on earth is short.
